This August, in celebration of Women’s Month, Mount Edgecombe Plaza is proud to partner with The Al-Asad Charitable Foundation with: PERIOD POVERTY MATTERS 2020

Throughout the world females struggle with proper sanitation, especially amongst the poorer communities. We at Mount Edgecombe Plaza wish to strive in helping our poor communities in KwaZulu-Natal and the Western Cape to ensure that our girls have access to proper hygiene necessities.

Generally, dignity packs are distributed to girls at school, causing many to rely on this. However, due to COVID-19 schools have not been functioning as normal thus leaving many girls in despair.

This project is targeted to 350 girls directly and indirectly to their families with the intention to avoid girls from reverting to primitive and unhygienic methods as well as allow parents to use funds that they might use to buy these on other necessities for their household.

Each of the Dignity Packs comprise of:

1 x Sanitary Pad Pack
1 x Roll On
1 x Face Cloth
1 x Toothbrush
1 x Toothpaste
1 x Vaseline
1 x Soap
